criteria of a Depravity Standard item. These specific parameters preserve the
constitutionality of the Standard. One item was ultimately dropped from consideration
despite the overwhelming support of participants that it was representative of depravity:
our research team concluded that evidence for this item would be too difficult
to distinguish consistently and scientifically.
