CASE STUDY: 107.02:
COMMERCIAL PROFIT
Background
On the morning
of July 9, 1991, thirty-four-year-old Steven Benson surprised everyone by
showing up early at his mother’s home. He had made arrangements the night
before to accompany his family to look at some property that morning. No one
really expected him, as it was out of character for him to be up early.
Nevertheless, he appeared at his mother’s home at 7:30 A.M. Soon after he arrived,
he took her Chevrolet Suburban to buy some doughnuts and coffee but took almost
an hour and half to return.
