Studies have
shown that as the degree of injury severity increases, the offender age
generally decreases, and he is likely to live closer to rather than farther
from the victim. Juvenile offenders are more likely to be violent, live closer,
engage in postmortem mutilation and foreign object insertion, and target women
seventy-five years of age and older. They are less likely to leave semen.
