Recognizing the intraracial nature of these crimes appears to be applicable only if the victim is black. If the victim is white, the intraracial aspect of violent offending does not appear to be as germane. White offenders rarely offend interracially. The proximity of the offender’s residence to the crime scene is significantly influenced by the racial homogeneity of the neighborhood.
