assaults are not primarily motivated by material gain and are not sanctioned by
a group. Rather, an underlying emotional conflict or psychological issue propels
the offender to commit rape and sexual assault. Although the case may be
legally defined as rape, the term sexual assault is used in this classification
to encompass a wide range of forced and pressured sexual activities.
