The primary aim of the offender in this rape is to develop a relationship with an adolescent. The sexual activities are secondary to the interpersonal intent. The victim is seen as an appropriate social and sexual companion; the offender perceives that the relationship is mutually satisfying and that it benefits the adolescent in some way.
