Since communications are often left on or in
the target’s vehicle, observation of vehicles can often lead to the identity of
the stalker. The target should be interviewed about any suspicious seemingly
accidental contacts she may have had in the recent past, such as being bumped
into while shop- ping, door-to-door salesmen, telephone solicitations, or a
stranger asking to use the telephone or asking for directions.
