Indicators Frequently Noted. The offender may cause bodily injury by using a
deadly weapon.
Common
Forensic Findings. Aggravated assault offenders used personal weapons (such as hands,
fists, and feet) in 26.9 percent of offenses, firearms in 19.1 percent of
offenses, and knives or cutting instruments in 18.2 percent of offenses. Other
types of weapons were used in 35.9 percent of aggravated assaults.
